---A. WHS Students of the Month: (bio’s courtesy of Assistant Principal Darren Swanner)
--- Megan Lowe (presented by Mrs. Clark) Class Officer, Commended on TAKS Tests Performance,
completed 30+ Community Service Hours in past two years. Megan plans to attend
Sam Houston State University, and major in Forensic Chemistry. Parents: Johnny & Carol Atkinson
---Jonathon Hunter (presented by Mrs. Kyle) Honor Roll Student, Active in UIL Team
at State Level, Participates in Church Mission Trips and VBS. Works part-time,
approx. 20 Hrs. / Wk. At Brookshire Food Store. Jonathon is pursuing a noble career,
in the Nursing Profession, and is currently taking pre-reqs. at the School of Nursing,
UT Health Science Center, in Houston. Parents: David & Vickie Monday
--- Congratulations & Plaques were presented to the Students. President Beaty expressed
the Board’s thanks to the Parents, for the excellent job they’ve done with their children.

…Item TABLED, Awaiting Further Discussions with the District’s Engineers,
Concerning Electrical Capacity, per recommendation of the Superintendent.
7. Items of New Business
--- A. Consider / Action on: The WISD Technology Plan for 2010 - 2013:
Presented by Mrs. Tammy McLain, Technology Director. The Texas “E” Plan for three (3) years
is filed with the TEA to get funding. The District is in the process of upgrading all
of it’s interactive white boards, and has installed 26 out of 50, new “Smart Boards”.
All WISD Teachers are currently taking surveys to determine levels of
electronic proficiency. As Recommended: APPROVED
---B. Consider / Action on : Bids for The Middle School “C” Building Roofing Project:
…Background: The District has received three (3) Bids for the Roofing Project from the following vendors:
…Olympic System, Winnsboro, Tx – Option 1 - $35,000, Option 2 - $40,800, Option 3 - $51,600
…Option 4 - $50,500, Option 5 - $61,300
…dkhaney Roofing, Ft. Worth Tx - $53,627.21 (a TIPS/Region VII Purchasing Cooperative Vendor)
…Mike King General, Winnsboro, Tx - $35,000
…(Note: Dr. Bosold mentioned that dkhaney Roofing has been satisfactorily used by the
Mt. Vernon ISD over the last 4-5 years. He seemed impressed with this roofer, and stated that
they could complete the work while school was in session, as no old metal roofing would be removed.
Also, some Federal Stimulus Dollars would be used in this Project. He recommended them,
although it was more expensive.) As Recommended: The dkhaney Roofing bid was selected , APPROVED
