Rural Idol Competition On Saturday, April 25, the P.O.I.N.T. organization will present the Rural American Music Revue with the stage set for Rural American Idol’s first competition. Five contestants will vie for a spot in the finals in November. Laramie Lomanto of Alba will challenge Katelynn Huff of Sulphur Springs in Division 2. The showdown in Division 3 is set for James Smith of Fruitvale, Kimberly Green of Whitehouse, and John “Bear” DuBose of Quitman. It is anticipated that these new, refreshing amateur talents will present an exciting, high level competition and entertainment. Adding a sparkle to the Rural American Music Extravaganza is the appearance of Jason McDonald, 2008 Rural American Idol, and other guest performers Ken Spradlin and. Betsy Stiles. Pursuing their mission to promote Rural American art, the P.O.I.N.T. organization continues to search for amateur talent pursuing their singing career. The Rural American Idol Contest, presented by the organization of People Organizing Ideal Neighborhoods Today, Inc.(P.O.I.N.T., Inc.), is now on its 7th year. A $1000 cash prize will be awarded to the overall winner who will take the title 2007 Rural American Idol.
