Winnsboro Athlete Excels

Tud Krier, an 8th grade student at Memorial Middle School in Winnsboro recently came home from from the Super Series West Division Championship Tournament in Woodland Park, CO with a 3rd place medal.  He is a member of the UR Texas Baseball Colts, a 12U Minor League Super Series team based out of the Waxahachie area. 

This is his first season with the team, who picked him up to act as clean-up pitcher just before their bid for the State Tournament in Lewisville, TX where they placed 2nd. 

While in Colorado, Tud helped get the final outs in a total of 3 innings, which helped lead the team to a 4-2 record in the double elimination tournament. 

He and his 12 teammates enjoyed the cool weather the Colorado Springs area had to offer and visited Pikes Peak, the Cavern of the Winds, and other attractions during their week long stay. 

Tud played both Super Series Select Baseball and Dixie Youth Baseball for the Winnsboro Baseball & Softball Association this past spring. He will be playing with UR Texas through their fall season as well, picking up some additional field time by adding 1st base, center field and possibly some catching to his duties.
