WINNSBORO PORTAL OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

The Ribbon Cutting for the Winnsboro Online Guide took place 5:30 pm, Monday, August 10, at Crossroads in downtown Winnsboro.

Joe Dan Coe, Pat Patrick and Gayle Gearner, representing the Winnsboro Economic Development Corporation Board, were present, along with several participating merchants and other guests, including former City Manager Ronny Knight. The WEDC provided the seed money to the Main Street Partnership, Inc., for the development of the site.

Mrs. Williams gave a tour of the site, taking advantage of the large screen over the Crossroads' stage to project the site live. She pointed out the numerous features that make the site an attractive resource for visitors, local residents including dining, shopping, recreation plus information on Trails Country, fishing, hunting, history and more.

A key element of the site is the free Guest Pass available to local residents, visitors and retirees looking for a place to relocate. Regular email newsletters will keep subscribers up to date on events and deliver special offers from local businesses.

Lynn Adler and Lindy Hearne, well-known singer-songwriters and founders of Crossroads, just returned from their summer concert tour. They were present to see the "Welcome to Winnsboro, Texas" video created for the site by Stephen Marshall, new owner of Crossroads.

Barbara Hums, who was unable to attend the event, was acknowledged for working in partnership with Anita Williams to create the design and develop the technical side of the of the site with her team.
