OPPORTUNITIES FOR EAST TEXAS WORKERS

Workforce Solutions East Texas signs on Major Employers for their Ready-To-Work program

The Texas Workforce Commission recently launched a new Pilot Program that helps East Texas employers save their payroll dollars by receiving cash reimbursements for hiring individuals recently displaced by layoffs. “Although helping these individuals find work is what we always do at Workforce Solutions Career Centers, we now can pay you for hiring these qualified individuals”, said Mr. Steve Lynch, Area Director of Workforce Solutions. “We will pay up to $4.00 per hour, per person, for a savings of up to $640.00 for the initial four-week training period, or up to 160 hours of training,” Lynch said.

Workforce Solutions East Texas has recently signed contracts with several major employers who have teamed up with the agency’s Ready to Work program including Ozarka/Nestle Pure Life, Suddenlink Communications, Hamilton Scale, Flowers Baking Co, Sitel and TCIM.

Under the directives for the Ready-To-Work program, a Career Coach from the Workforce Solutions East Texas will aid in matching candidates that have been receiving unemployment benefits for 10 weeks or less to the employer positions and track the progress of the employee while in the four-week training period.

“This will allow us to keep the pulse of the partnership and track the performance of the employee,” Lynch said.

“We are thrilled to have our new partners in this initiative and look forward to long-term success for both the businesses and the employees,” he added.
