Hope everyone had a good Christmas. We certainly did. Some of our kids came out from the Metroplex and we had a nice day eating, playing cards, playing outside, and eating some more. Definitely going to have to be serious about a diet next week. Still have too many Christmas cookies left to think about it this week.

My kids all went in together to buy me a neat Eee PC Notebook and set me up with WiFi in my house. I could open an Internet cafe, except that would mean I'd have to make more coffee. This affords me the ability to access e-mail and the Internet from anywhere in the house, so I am not tied to the computer in my office. I can also easily download work if I want to lounge in the living room with the notebook on my lap and do some editing. When I do a signing event, I could also use the notebook to stream a video about my book. That is if I knew how to stream a video. Guess I'm going to have to learn some new technology.

Our columists have outdone themselves this week, so I hope you will take a minute to read Home Country, I'm Just a Guy, and A Soldier's Story.

The weather forecast is predicting snow and sleet starting tomorrow, Tuesday, so I hope everyone has plenty of soup and firewood on hand. I am going to make a big pot of hamburger soup.

In anticiaption of Thursday, I'm wishing everyone a Happy New Year and many blessings for 2010.

Until next time......
