Second Saturday Market Days

As a result of efforts by the Main Street Committee, Trails Country Center For The Arts, and the Merchants Association, Winnsboro will host Market Days the second Saturday of every month. This will be held downtown and participating business will be open later than usual and offer specials and sales.

"This is the first time we've all worked together on something," said Shirley Watters, who owns McCrary's Hardware store with her husband, Robert. "And it's a big step forward for the city. We need cooperation among all the businesses and organizations in town to help Winnsboro prosper."

Market Days will premiere during Autumn Trails and there are lots of things planned to make it a fun day. There will be a trolley running from noon until 8:00 pm that will take folks around historic downtown. "We'll have clowns, music and face painting," Shirley said. "And most of the shop owners will wear western attire to compliment the Rodeo that will be going on the same weekend."

Plans are already underway for a Thanksgiving theme for November and an old-fashioned Christmas for December.

Be sure to check this website for monthly updates on special activities for the Market Days.

NEW this year is Market Days Downtown where participating businesses will be open later than usual and offer specials and sales. A trolley will run from noon until 8:00 pm, taking people around the historic district of Winnsboro for only 50 cents a person. The downtown area will also feature clowns, fall produce, face painting, and music.
