My name is DEBORAH HOBIN. I am seeking your vote for Winnsboro Independent School District School Board Trustee.

MY GOAL is to work with a positive and effective way with the other members of the school board to improve education for our children at WISD.

*I strongly support implementation of a "Master Plan" for all facilities within the WISD Schools by setting goals and assessment of present and future needs.

*I believe we should be devoted to using our tax dollars in an efficient and cost effective manner.

*The responsibility of the Education of our children is my primary concern, but I also feel we need to "listen" to parents and other community members to help improve our schools.

I feel that my education and life experiences can help me to contribute to improving our schools for our children.

I have been a devoted wife for 26 years to Frank Hobin. We are proud parents of two sons and new grandparents of a 6-month-old grandson.

Our youngest son Phillip has attended WISD schools since the 7th grade when we moved to Winnsboro. He will be graduating this May.

My husband Frank served in the US Navy for 22 years. During this time I worked 6 years as a consumer credit counselor for The Navy Relief Society.

I served as Vice-President of our squadron's Enlisted Wives Club for 2 years during the time of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I was appointed Ombudsman/Liaison Officer for 3 years for my husband's Command, after receiving certified training from the Navy and Red Cross.

I have worked as a teachers aide for gifted and talented students. Later I became a substitute teacher, as well.

Since moving to Winnsboro in 1997-98,1 have been active in school activities as a mother. I have regularly attended our school board meetings for approximately 4-5 years. As a mother of a WISD student and a taxpayer, I feel it is important to spend our tax dollars wisely in a cost-effective manner for the greatest value of all "our children".

I am proud to live in our community of Winnsboro, and I hope you will give me the chance to work for you and your children, as YOUR representative WISD School Board Trustee.
