To the voters in Winnsboro Independent School District:

I would like to ask you for your vote for re-election to the WISD Board of Trustees.

I was raised in Winnsboro and graduated from WHS in 1959. Jerry and I married in October 1959 and lived in Quitman until we moved back to Winnsboro in 1973. He is retired from the auto parts business and I have been in the bookkeeping and income tax business since 1964.

We have one child, Laura Murdock. Laura has taught 5th grade at Memorial Middle School since the fall of 1992. She and her husband Jay have one daughter, Javin, who is in Pre-K at Winnsboro Elementary.

Jerry and I attend Forest Hill Baptist Church where I serve as a church clerk, Sunday School secretary, and teach teenagers on Wednesday night.

I enjoy civic work. I am presently a member of the Autumn Trails Board, Presbyterian Hospital Board, Smyrna Cemetary Board, Pleasand Grove Memorial Park Board, Winnsboro Manor Board, Rock Gym Preservation Committee, and a member of the Winnsboro Civic Club. I am a past president of the Chamber of Commerce.

I realize that being a school trustee is a huge responsibility. I have tried to avail myself of every opportunity to learn more about school law, finance, and the duties and limitations of a trustee. I believe that we owe the young people of our town the best education we can give them.
