Our Tax Dollars at Work

Whether or not local citizens have children attending classes at one of the three Winnsboro ISD schools, they all have a stake in how tax dollars are being spent. They entrust the School Board and Superintendent Mark Bosold to use resources wisely and according to prescribed protocols.

In recent years there has been some question as to how well those ideals are being met.
Winnsboro Area Concerned Citizens (WACC) is an organization that has formed in an attempt to hold the Superintendent and the Board accountable. They first organized three years ago when a bond election was held seeking funds for construction of a new high school campus. Frank and Debbie Hobin, along with other volunteers, spent many hours working to get the facts widely assimilated throughout the community prior to that election and another one the following year. Each time the voters said no to the bond issue...

In Loving Memory of Nick Morris

In this small and close knit town, the Sr. Class of 2003 of which my son graduated, mourns the loss of Nick Morris, the star football player and full vested sports scholarship lad who died Saturday, June 7th, in Dallas. The kids grieve, parents of fellow senior students grieve, school officials and classmates grieve, friends and family of Nick mourn beyond belief. Kids here bond with a spiritual connnection to a strong support team of prayer, but we ask your prayers and thoughts at this time for our kids, Nick's parents and family, and his many friends...

Although the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) is one of the most active organizations at WHS, it is one of the first organizations to go unnoticed.

Most people have know about Athletics, Drama, the Spanish Club, and the FFA, but FCCLA doesn't have a high profile. It is to Home Economics what the Future Farmers of America (FFA) is to the Agriculture Department...
