Paul Harvey Comments on "The Passion" by Mel Gibson

The majority of the media are complaining about this movie. Now Paul Harvey tells "The rest of the story" and David Limbaugh praises Gibson. Most people would wait and see a movie before giving the reviews that have been issued by the reporters trying to tell all of us what to believe.

Long-Term facilities management for WISD

There ARE some very nice things that could be done to the existing structures in a cost-effective manner. Several creative ideas have been suggested by some of our local citizens that can easily add all the space we would need for decades to come.

There have been repeated requests and suggestions to attempt to reach consensus concerning accountability. Is this at all a possibility? Our objective is to point out the REASONABLENESS of what has been asked for, and that is a LONG-TERM facilities management and financial accountability plan for WISD.

Female prisoners of Saddam Hussein less than equal

The simultaneous news coverage of the war in Iraq and the rape scandal at the U.S. Air Force Academy exposes again the feminist double standards and hypocrisies.

Feminists complain about sexual harassment by American men, but if committed
by ruthless enemy men, feminists applaud it as progress made toward a
gender-neutral military..

Help Wanted

The basic premise was a call for more citizen involvement concerning the school board election for Dallas. (The principle applies to all our local elections, not merely school board...

Thought Control Replaces Academic Freedom

Gone are the days when academic freedom was the watchword on college campuses. Today, thought control is the dominant theology, often hiding behind the mantras of diversity and multiculturalism...

Prioritizing Repairs and Maintenance for WISD

I believe that now is the time to respecitively request that our Winnsboro I.S.D. Trustees form a broad community based committee with the goal of creating a master plan for all our school buildings. I believe it is prudent to prioritize the most urgent maintenance and repair needs of all our school buildings. These meetings should be well publicized and open to the public. The committee should take public and teacher input at all stages of developing the much needed school master plan. Our students deserve safe, healthy, clean schools...

Mr. Richard Foster

It's past time to inform those with short memories and others who do not know the truth about one of our most civic-minded citizens, Mr. Richard Foster of KWNS. This humble man has served Winnsboro for many years - and much of that time with little thanks or appreciation. For a decade he reported all of the Winnsboro ballgames for both the boys and girls teams, always following them to Austin for championship titles, and at his personal expense. Whenever clubs, organizations, or merchants needed an MC, a sound system, or free advertising for their non-profit group, he accomodated them. He also provided assistance to political candidates, some of whom have shown their gratitude by sabotaging him/his other donated endeavors developed on behalf of the community...

God's Mysterious Ways

Recently, friends of mine were on a vacation trip and stopped at a rural store for supplies. After arriving at their destination, they discovered that she had left her purse on the ground at the store. Upon calling the store, they were told that the purse had been found and turned over to the police department...

Missionary Tells of her Experience in Russian Orphanage

Yesterday I met a young woman from France. Manue felt the Lord leading her
to work in Russia. One year ago she came here to work with Project Hope. She
volunteers at a hospital for children on Saturday. A few of these children are
found on the streets or in metro stations abandoned by their parents. Others are
found by social workers on home visits. One little boy was found in a corner of
his home sitting on a piece of oil cloth in his own feces. He was 5 years old and
weighed less than 20 Ibs. He was found sitting with his legs crossed...

Vote against the Unit Road System

The Unit Road System (Optional on November Ballot) is bad for Wood County. With Optional (Unit) Road System, we will have higher taxes. With the Optional (Unit) System, the cost of our roads will increase and road quality will decrease.

It is the last item on our November Ballot and will read "Adopting the Optional County Road System in Wood County". This costly, inefficient, centralized Unit Road System is not optional if it passes. Rains County voted the Unit System in two years ago. It did not work for them and they now have it on the Rains County ballot to vote it out. Let's learn from their bad experience and vote against the Unit Road System.
